Actually the ship your viewing is of the USS E. A. Poe (IX-103)....it is the "EX" SS Edgar Allen Poe.
After connecting with a torpedo from the Japanese Submarine I-21 she lost her engines and boilers but she didn't sink.....so the Navy seen another opportunity for this ole girl to serve....and serve she did.

After being towed back to Noumea after the attack and retrieval, the 20th Naval Construction Battalion USN,(Seabees) C and or divisions, " performed stevedore and other related tasks, and unloaded the vessel.
